There is a new competitor in the budget airline market, ThaiLion Air, offering flights between Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Jakarta (Indonesia). With their opening promos I have seen flights as cheap as 385Bht all taxes included between Bangkok and Chiang Mai, that equates to R123.00 per person.
